As a fire started in the kitchen of a Chinese takeaway kitchen the owner took it upon himself to stop the fire spreading through the extraction system.
The fire had spread into the ventilation ducts and the owner wanted to stop it spreading to the flats above the shop via the ducts by isolating the system. The owner had used various fire extinguishers by the time the fire brigade arrived on the scene.
Though the exact cause of the fire is unknown the smallest amount of grease or fat could have caused the incident.
